Planeta, Reigning Champion of Olive Oil Competitions

The Planeta estate has just received several awards for its exquisite extra-virgin olive oil.

2018 is off to a great start for Planeta: the Sicilian extra-virgin olive oil has received first prize at the 2018 SOFI Awards, the Silver Medal - Medium at the Los Angeles International Competition, a “Five Drop” rating from Bibenda and a Great Oil award from Slow Food.

The estate is growing steadily and will plant over 13,000 new olive trees, in strict compliance with PDO rules.* The 2017 harvest yielded an oil of extraordinary quality. The technological investments from the previous years allowed Planeta to improve its extraction process, while the clement weather was favourable to growing olives boasting superior analytical values, including an acidity level of 0.2%.
