We wanted to offer an exceptional condiment to enhance all flavours.
Sea salt from Sardinia is combined with fresh herbs (not dried, as is usually the case). It is 100% natural and gluten-, allergen- and GMO-free. Our producer holds a UNI EN ISO 9001: 2008 certification, guaranteeing high quality standards, in addition to BRC (British Retail Consortium) and IFS (International Food Standard) certifications for food safety and quality management.
Favuzzi herbal Bologna sea salt is prepared with fresh rosemary and sage, garlic, a pinch of black pepper, selected seeds and Italian sea salt with distinctive properties. The herbs are grown in our producer’s fields in Bologna. From the field to the packaged product, the entire production chain is carefully monitored to ensure exceptional quality.
The province of Bologna, in the Emilia-Romagna region, is located between the River Po in the north and the Apennines in the south. Thanks to its temperate climate, it is one of Italy’s most fertile regions. The Via Cadriano, in the small town of Granarolo dell’Emilia, is bordered by large fields where the fresh herbs used in Bologna salt are harvested every day.
The artisans behind the product
It is in 1968 that Franco Berti and his wife Franca had the idea to market the aromatic herbal salt already widely used and loved in every Italian family's kitchen. Originally, the blend was prepared by crushing the salt together with freshly picked herbs using an empty wine bottle. Today, three generations of Bertis work with pride to perpetuate the tradition.

Founded in 1968, Caber specializes in seasonings made with sea salt and fresh Italian aromatic herbs. The company is involved in every stage of production, from growing the herbs to finalizing the packaging. Caber’s production facilities are located in the mountains, near the Italian cities of Bologna and Padua. The salt, harvested in Sardinia from evaporated seawater, is reputed to be the purest in the world.
