It is the iconic Italian pastry enjoyed with loved ones during festive Christmas and New Year meals.

Distinctive features

Made in Italy following traditional recipes, Favuzzi Limoncello panettones are wrapped by hand in Montreal, using elegant paper designed and printed locally. They are prepared exclusively with the highest quality ingredients such as old-style butter, free-range eggs delivered daily and milk from cows pastured in the Trentino region. Particularly, they are filled with an exquisite limoncello cream, which makes the cake very soft and fragrant. Preservative-free, they are simply sprayed with alcohol, which acts as a bacteriostatic agent by preventing mould growth for six months.

Production method

For 80 years, Favuzzi panettones have been prepared the artisanal way, with the same strain of yeast. Under the care and the constant presence of the master pastry chef, the yeast culture is always at its best. Several kneading phases come before the final rising period, where the pastry chef makes the “scarpatura”, a cross-shaped incision on top of the dough. Once baked, the panettones are hung upside down to cool. They are then bagged and shipped to Canada, where they are individually wrapped by hand in beautiful paper.


Our panettones are made in Veneto, in northern Italy.

The artisans behind the product

The collaboration between Favuzzi and the producer is above all the fruit of a friendship between our president and a descendants of the company’s founder. The family business has been passing on the art of panettone making since 1795!


Panettone is traditionally eaten for dessert at the end of the Christmas and New Year meals. It can also be used to make French toast, a breakfast sandwich, or even panna cotta!             


Wheat flour, fresh eggs, butter (milk), 13% cream filling (sugar, glucose syrup, whole milk, 10% limoncello [water, sugar, alcohol, 10% lemon infusion], water, flavourings, gelling agent: pectin, preservative: potassium sorbate), 12% candied lemon cubes and paste (lemon peel, glucose-fructose syrup, sugar, acidifier: citric acid), sugar, fresh egg yolks, milk, natural yeast (wheat), emulsifiers: mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, glucose syrup, flavourings, cocoa butter, salt.     

Muzzi has a long history dating back to the 18th century. Master Muzzi, the founder, made his mark in the Italian town of Foligno with his aniseed marzipan recipe, a great success with the nobility at the time! Its most popular products include panforte, a typical Italian dessert made with dried fruit and nuts, and panettone, a cake traditionally prepared for the year-end festivities. Today, Muzzi is known as an innovative artisanal company offering superior confectionery products.
