The artisans behind the Marques de Valdueza and Favuzzi oils shine at the 6th World Olive Oil Exhibition in Madrid!
Madrid’s 2018 World Olive Oil Exhibition
Located in the Iberian Peninsula, Madrid is the capital of the world’s largest olive oil producing country, Spain! As one of the Mediterranean region’s commercial and cultural centres, Madrid was chosen to host the 2018 World Olive Oil Exhibition. With its wealth of traditions and olive oil-based recipes, Madrid had the honour of welcoming over 187 producers last March.
The exhibition, which aims to support olive oil production as well as producers and the environment, is one of the largest international events of this type.
For two whole days, participants enjoyed the opportunity to sample products, to attend conferences and creative gourmet workshops led by renowned chefs, and to take part in international olive oil competitions such as EVOOLEUM!

Boasting over 20 years of experience and known for setting the standards on the topic of olive oil, the Mercacei Editorial Group publishes the EVOOLEUM guide to the world’s 100 best extra-virgin olive oils.
International competitions rely on a jury comprising carefully selected members who contribute their superior expertise in the field!
Our artisans in the spotlight !
Amongst the 100 featured oils, three received awards.
Two of these awards were won by Favuzzi producers:
- The de Valdueza estate and the Carrasco family, makers of our FAVUZZI oil.
