Steps of preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the tops off the tomatoes and gently scoop out the inside with a spoon, making sure to keep the tomato flesh.
  3. Finely chop the tomato flesh and place it in a bowl. Add the chopped red onion and garlic, chopped basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add a generous drizzle of Favuzzi Bruschetta Olive Oil and mix well. If the tomato flesh is very watery, remove some of the excess juice to prevent the filling from becoming too watery.
  4. Place the tomatoes in an oven-safe dish and fill them with the bruschetta mixture.
  5. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the tomato skins begin to wrinkle slightly while still maintaining their shape and texture.
  6. Remove from the oven and let rest for about 5 minutes.
  7. Place a generous spoonful of burrata cheese in the center of each tomato.
  8. Finish with a drizzle of Favuzzi Bruschetta Olive Oil, a drizzle of Favuzzi Balsamic Cream, and a few fresh chopped basil leaves.
  9. Serve with Favuzzi Focaccina crostini to scoop up and enjoy with the stuffed tomatoes.
